How to Get the Skin You’ve Always Wanted

What Is The Best Skincare Regimen For Me?

Healthy, radiant skin is not all about DNA or luck. While genetics can be advantageous,  the best skincare regimen, diligent application, and daily lifestyle choices are what make the difference. If you’ve struggled to see results, been overwhelmed by product choices, or just been unsure about where and how to start, now is the time to get the skin you’ve always wanted.

Define your skincare goals

In any journey, you have to know your destination before you can chart your course. So, start by evaluating your current skin condition. Do you want to improve your skin texture? Is acne an issue? Do you have dark spots on your skin or blotchiness? Are you looking for a firmer, more lifted appearance?

Products are formulated to address specific skin concerns, particularly serums, which are the workhorses of your regimen. Once you’ve defined your goals, it will be easier to choose the right products based on your skin’s needs.

Set realistic expectations

A Vivant skin care regimen is active clinical therapy. Our acne formulations accelerate cell turnover, peel impactions, heal the follicle, and break the bacterial and inflammation cycles that fuel breakouts. Our ageless therapies work in the deepest levels of the skin to rebuild the structure, plum, and lift the skin while accelerating cell turnover to smooth lines and reduce pigment

These types of changes in the skin don’t happen overnight. If you expect to see immediate results, you may be disappointed and tempted to give up. Don’t.

Use your products in a daily regimen for at least thirty days before judging your results. Why thirty days? Because that’s the average length of the life cycle of a skin cell. It’s the period needed for your skin to acclimate, for pimples forming under the surface to be brought up and cleared away, and for renewal to begin.

The basic four-step regimen

Whatever your skin goals, there are four basic steps that every successful regimen requires.

The foundation of your regimen. Cleansing the skin removes dirt, excess oil, cellular debris, and makeup to prep for next steps and support a healthy skin barrier.

Toners are skin optimizers. They refine texture, minimize pores, infuse hydration, and reduce excess oil. And they make your other products work better by clearing dead cells to enhance absorption and accelerate your results.

Correctors (serums) are formulated to target specific skin issues to bring the change you’re looking for in your skin.

Products in this category rely on humectant and emollient ingredients to draw moisture into the skin and retain it. Protectors nourish the skin, promote elasticity, and fortify this skin barrier. SPF, the ultimate protector, should be used daily to guard against age-accelerating UV damage.

Four steps doesn’t necessarily mean four products. You might alternate or use multiple products depending on the season, your skin condition, and the issues you’re targeting.

Tip: With any skincare product, apply in order of consistency — from thinnest to thickest—for example, cleanser, toner, serum, and then moisturizer.

Be consistent with your regimen

The best products won’t improve your skin if you don’t use them consistently. You wouldn’t think of skipping your toothbrushing routine. Your skin care regimen is just as important to the long-term health of your skin. Whether your skincare issue is acne, discoloration, or signs of aging, if you want to keep your skin in peak condition, daily maintenance is required.

Choose products that work with your skin

Retinyl Propionate

The gold standard for acne or aging was developed by Vivant founding formulator Dr. James E. Fulton, MD, PhD. The most effective non-prescription retinoid, retinyl propionate, accelerates cell turnover from an average of 30-45 days to 10-14 days, bringing fresh, healthy cells to the surface faster. It also boosts collagen and elastin production for firmer, smoother, bouncier skin.

Clinical Mandelic Acid

This gentle, multi-tasking resurfacer and brightener has something for every skin. It kills acne bacteria, suppresses excess pigment, and clears surface debris to unclog pores and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Clinical mandelic acid’s large molecular structure means it’s absorbed more slowly by the skin, minimizing irritation, making it ideal for hyperpigmentation-prone skin or skin too sensitive for glycolic acid.

Benzoyl Peroxide

Benzoyl peroxide is a natural compound that releases oxygen in the pore to kill acne bacteria and flush dead cells. It’s the reigning champion acne fighter, but it can be drying or mildly irritating, so it’s not the best choice for sensitive skin. Benzoyl peroxide became the most widely used acne treatment in the world after Dr. Fulton developed the first stabilized BP gel.

The FF3 line represents Vivant’s next generation of gold-standard development combining specialized, advanced actives with optimized delivery to address the needs of photoaged, environmentally-stressed, or estrogen-depleted skin. The ultra-targeted formulas rely on new senolytic and neo-collagenic ingredients to reawaken cellular activity, rebuild the extra-cellular matrix, and repair years of damage from UV exposure.
