Ingredient Tour: Daily Repair Pads

Daily Repair Pads are one of our bestselling products for good reason. What makes this such a must-have? A powerhouse formulation that ticks boxes not found on the typical toner resume (fading dark spots, anyone?). It’s a synergistic blend of Ingredients designed not just to refine, but to redefine. Let’s take a look under the lid to see what makes this top pick tick.

What’s in the formula?

Mandelic Acid: We call this multi-tasking AHA the trifecta acid because it takes on three of the top trouble spots: acne, signs of aging, and irregular pigmentation. Along with its micro-exfoliating properties, it’s antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and naturally brightening making it unique among acids. It’s also more gentle than most acids because it has a larger molecular structure, which means it is absorbed more slowly by the skin so it doesn’t cause irritation.

Niacinamide: This vitamin B derivative is a quiet giant in the realm of skin care. You may not know the name, but it is working behind the scenes to promote clearer, firmer, more resilient skin. It’s a collagen booster and a contributor to cellular turnover. It stimulates the synthesis of ceramides, essential to a strong skin barrier. It blocks melanin from reaching the surface of the skin. It’s potent anti-inflammatory properties mean it helps reduce redness.

Zinc Peptides: An essential part of the protein sequence, zinc peptides promote wound-healing and tissue regeneration to strengthen skin structure and firmness. They also help to protect immune system activity and inflammatory control. Antibacterial and antiseptic properties soothe, heal, and protect skin.

Lactic Acid: This gentle alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) derived from fermented milk has been used by royals and regular folk for centuries to make skin smooth, soft, and radiantly youthful. Like other AHAs, lactic acid works by dissolving the proteins binding skin cells together, which results in a sloughing off of dead cells and debris. This exfoliation stimulates cell renewal and promotes the production of collagen and elastin.
Lactic acid works mostly on the surface of the skin. It’s non-irritating and a pH regulator, and a humectant meaning it acts a moisture binder.

Salicylic Acid: This multi-functioning beta hydroxy acid is a desmolytic and comedolytic agent, meaning it works above and below the surface to exfoliate and flush out pores. On its own, it can be strong, but it shines as a team player. In combination with alpha hydroxy acids, salicylic acid enhances brightening and regenerative effects because of its superior ability to reach into pores. With its exceptional exfoliating properties, it accelerates cell renewal, smooths fine lines, and encourages collagen production, while also giving other actives an absorptive boost. Its anti-microbial, anti-inflammatory properties make it a key acne fighter.

Glycine: Glycine is a naturally occurring amino acid required for the synthesis of protein. It’s one of three amino acids that make up collagen’s triple-helix structure. In skin care, glycine aids in cell repair, protects against oxidative stress, and promotes suppleness and elasticity.

What does all this add up to? A seriously transformative swipe of refinement and rejuvenation. The exfoliating acid trio of mandelic, lactic, and salicylic is balanced by healing zinc peptides, niacinamide, and glycine, each with its own unique contribution to the synergistic whole. Plus, the pads are textured to lift away cellular debris loosened by the acids.

Speed cell renewal, clear dead skin cells, prevent breakouts, counter inflammation, reduce the appearance of pores, promote elasticity and firmness, lift excess pigment, restore resilience, retain moisture, balance pH, regulate sebum, improve tone and texture, and enhance the absorption of corrective serums—all in one package.

Men, women, millennials, and baby boomers love our Daily Repair Pads for so many reasons, not the least of which is the fact that the pre-moistened singles in an easily tote-able tub make your routine so simple. And who doesn’t love simple?
