Six Common Skin Problems Solved

For every little problem that skin brings as we age, there is a solution. Here are quick ways to nix at least six of the most common skin problems associated with aging.

PROBLEM: Large Pores

When pores become weighed down with dead skin and sebum, they get stretched and take on a dark and enlarged appearance.

SOLUTION: Removing cellular debris, dirt, and oil will minimize the appearance of pores to make skin appear smooth and healthy. Your skin care routine should include a refining and clarifying toner, plus an exfoliating agent to accelerate cell turnover.

RECOMMENDED:

Daily Repair Pads

A refining, clarifying, and exfoliating acid trio of mandelic, lactic, and salicylic that’s balanced by healing zinc peptides and niacinamide.

PROBLEM: Dull Skin

As we age, cell turnover slows leading to a buildup of dead skin cells. Additionally, skin tends to lose moisture more rapidly. The combination of sluggish cell regeneration and loss of moisture will make skin appear heavy and dull.

SOLUTION: Exfoliate. Exfoliate. Exfoliate. Incorporate acids like mandelic, glycolic, or salicylic into your routine to slough off dead skin cells and get skin glowing again.

RECOMMENDED:

Mandelic Acid 3-in-1 Exfoliating Cleanser

A rejuvenating blend of mandelic acid, green tea extract, kiwi extract, grape seed oil and honey in a skin- and eco-friendly scrub. Stimulates cell renewal, refines pores while controlling acne-causing bacteria and brightening and balancing skin tone.

Exfol-A

Level two in Vivant’s vitamin A therapy, this brightening regenerist combines the muscle of vitamin A with a transformative cocktail of AHAs including lactic acid, kojic acid, and glycolic acid, plus nourishing niacinamide for knockout results. Best for skin already acclimated to vitamin A therapy.

PROBLEM: Fine Lines & Wrinkles

Photodamage, the breakdown of collagen, and increasingly sluggish cell turnover are the recipe for fine lines and wrinkles.

SOLUTION: Accelerate cell turnover with acids and vitamin A to reduce cellular debris that can make lines appear deeper. Boost collagen production and thicken the dermis to plump skin surface and fill in fine lines. Vitamin A, peptides, vitamin C (essential to the synthesis of collagen), niacinamide (ceramide & collagen booster) are top ingredients for this task.

RECOMMENDED:

Derm-A-Gel

PROBLEM: Dark Spots

Often called age spots, these marks of pigmentation are caused by UV exposure over time, hormones, or as the result of injury to the skin.

SOLUTION: Exfoliation, antioxidants to correct and prevent UV damage, and brightening agents will fade discoloration and inhibit melanin synthesis. Mandelic acid for dark or sensitive skin tones, vitamin A, vitamin C, kojic acid, green tea extract, and hydroquinone are your best bets. Use a daily sunscreen to protect from further damage.

PROBLEM: Thinning Skin

Loss of collagen leads to thinning and sagging over time.

RECOMMENDED:

Prep and plump with this ultra-refining, ultra-nourishing formula that includes barrier-boosting niacinamide, which increases ceramide, fatty acid, and collagen production, plus antioxidant rosehip oil to protect against the environmental stressors that break down collagen.

PROBLEM: Dark Circles/Bags Under Eyes

SOLUTION: Guard against photodamage with antioxidants and boost collagen production with peptides and vitamin A to plump, lift and firm.
